Long before algorithms and cloud infrastructure, there were rows of tobacco. Growing up in North Carolina, hard work wasn't a concept, it was a daily requirement. You showed up before the sun did, you stayed until the work was done, and you learned that every outcome was directly tied to how much you were willing to give.
That foundation built between rows of crops and community became the operating system Dr. Michael Hastings runs on. Resilience, grit, and a deep respect for the dignity of work. It's why, decades later, he's still the person who outworks the room.
